Job description

Position Summary:
We are currently hiring Health Information Management (HIM) Associates to join our HIM Department at 953 Southern Blvd. The HIM Associate oversees the protection and management of the information in the Electric Health Record (EHR). This role is responsible for ensuring that only authorized persons access and/or receives requested information within a specified timeframe and promotes the integrity of the information scanned into the EHR.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience with clerical/administrative functions is required, ideally in a health care setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, computer skills, and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Duties:
  • HIM Patients services (print and deliver information, assist with authorization completion)
  • Fax, mail, and email requested medical records
  • Maintain computerized record management system to store and process data for medical and onsite Auditors' requests.
  • Scan information into Electronic Health Record (EHR) as per established standards.
  • Review and processes all requests for medical information to ensure HIPPA and New York State Laws compliance.

Compensation: $18.00 ($37,440 annually)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Applicants must be comfortable working onsite, based out of the Bronx and have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
