What is a Manager Full Stack Developer?

A Manager Full Stack Developer is a professional who oversees and leads a team of developers while also contributing technically to both front-end and back-end software development. They are responsible for managing projects, ensuring high code quality, and coordinating between different teams or stakeholders. In addition to technical proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, they also possess strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Their role bridges the gap between hands-on coding and managerial responsibilities, ensuring successful project delivery.

How does a Manager Full Stack Developer balance hands-on coding with team leadership responsibilities?

A Manager Full Stack Developer typically splits their time between technical tasks—such as overseeing system architecture, conducting code reviews, and occasionally writing code—and leadership duties like mentoring team members, managing project timelines, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. Successfully balancing these aspects requires strong organizational skills and the ability to delegate effectively, ensuring technical excellence while supporting team growth. The role often involves regular meetings with stakeholders to align on project goals and address challenges, making communication a key part of daily responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Manager Full Stack Developer, and why are they important?

Familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular, backend systems such as Node.js or Java, and project management tools like Jira is typically required, along with certifications like Scrum Master or AWS. Strong communication, problem-solving, and team management skills help you lead diverse teams and drive project success. These skills ensure you can deliver high-quality software solutions while effectively leading and mentoring development teams.

Job description

Senior Full Stack Developer
Contract Role • Full Stack Engineering—React (60% Front-End / 40% Back-End) • AI-Enabled Development

Dallas TX ( hybrid )
Inperson interview mandatory

Looking for local candidates only

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with a strong front-end focus to design and build scalable, end-to-end web applications. This is a front-end-leaning role — roughly 60% of your time will be spent crafting responsive, high-quality user interfaces with React, and the remaining 40% building robust, event-driven back-end services with the latest Java (Java 21 LTS) and Spring Boot. You will also leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf to accelerate delivery and improve code quality. This role suits a front-end-strong engineer who is comfortable across the full stack, writes clean, production-grade code, and enjoys mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities
* Build responsive, accessible, high-performance front-end interfaces using React (primary focus).
* Translate designs and wireframes into polished, reusable UI components with clean state management.
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications, spanning UI, APIs, and services.
* Develop and support back-end microservices and RESTful APIs, with event-driven pipelines using Apache Kafka.
* Own features end-to-end — from design and development to deployment and monitoring.
* Leverage AI-assisted tools (Windsurf, Copilot, Claude Code) to boost development speed and quality.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, DevOps, QA) in an Agile environment.
Required Skills & Experience
* 9+ years of full-stack experience with a strong front-end focus, building production-grade web applications.
* Front-End (primary): Deep expertise in React (Hooks, functional components, Context) with TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
* UI/UX: Responsive design, component architecture, accessibility (a11y), and cross-browser compatibility.
* Front-End Tooling: State management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query) and modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack).
* Back-End (Java): Java 21 LTS — records, sealed classes, virtual threads, pattern matching.
* Spring: Spring Boot 3.x / Spring Framework 6.x — REST, Spring Data, Spring Security.
* Microservices: Strong hands-on experience designing and building microservices architectures.
* Kafka: Apache Kafka — producers/consumers, topics, partitions, event-driven design.
* Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB / Redis).
* DevOps: Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
* AI Tooling: Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
Good to Have
* Next.js and server-side rendering (SSR) / static generation experience.
* Design tooling familiarity (Figma) and design-system / component-library experience (Storybook).
* Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
* CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
* Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress / Playwright, JUnit 5, Mockito.
* Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, distributed tracing.
* Experience integrating LLM / AI APIs into applications.
* Build tools: Maven / Gradle.
