Job description

Imperial Supplies, a Grainger Company, is a national distributor of quality maintenance products. Serving the fleet maintenance industry since 1958, Imperial has formed lasting relationships with customers by tailoring our services to meet their changing needs.

Our welcoming workplace enables you to learn, grow and make a difference by keeping businesses running and their people safe. As a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company, we’re looking for passionate people to join our team as we continue leading the industry.

Imperial Supplies is looking for a strategic, influential leader to launch and lead our newly established Commercial Effectiveness function.

This role is an opportunity to create the operating framework that connects commercial strategy to execution, helping our sales and business teams focus resources where they create the greatest impact. As Director of Commercial Effectiveness, you will create and lead the operating model that translates commercial strategy into consistent execution while ensuring field insights influence future investments and business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Launch and establish the Commercial Effectiveness function, operating model, processes, governance, and team capabilities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and business leaders to align commercial priorities and execution.
  • Build and govern a scalable account planning framework that drives growth, customer insights, investment decisions, and relationship management.
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for sales project management, commercial insights, and operational coordination.
  • Create decision-making frameworks that improve commercial coverage, funnel management, customer prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Establish metrics, reporting, and measurement systems that demonstrate adoption, execution effectiveness, and business impact.
  • Influence leaders across the organization and drive meaningful change without relying solely on positional authority
 What We're Looking For

We're seeking a leader who can think strategically while driving practical execution.

You'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial strategy, sales enablement, revenue management, analytics, go-to-market, or cross-functional business leadership.
  • Experience implementing new programs, processes, or operating models that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong partnership and collaboration skills across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
  • The ability to influence decisions and drive adoption without direct authority.
  • Experience coaching talent and developing organizational capabilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking balanced with execution discipline and change leadership.
 Why Join Us?
  • Hybrid schedule with 4 days in-office and 1 day remote
  • Work/Life balance
  • Immediate medical, dental, vision; 18 days paid vacation, 7 paid holidays and 6% of annual earnings contributed to your retirement, immediately vested!
