Job description

Quality Control Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

We are working with a well-established, nationally recognized heavy civil contractor looking to add a Quality Control Manager to their team. This is a key leadership role supporting complex infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and large-scale civil work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all project quality control efforts from preconstruction through closeout
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for QC across self-perform and subcontracted work
  • Manage inspections, testing, documentation, and third-party QC services
  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, specs, drawings, and industry standards
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, and project documentation processes
  • Identify and resolve non-conformance issues with proper corrective actions
  • Support project closeout including punch lists and turnover

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a Quality Control role within construction
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction practices and standards
  • Experience with project documentation, scheduling, and reporting
  • Proficiency with construction/project management software

Preferred
  • Heavy civil experience (DOT, highway, bridge projects)
  • NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist or USACE CQM certification (or ability to obtain)
