Job description

Position Overview:

The Installer is a key role in the overall success of Wilmington Awning, Shutter & Shade. The Installer is responsible for understanding each product available to our customers and adapting those products to fit the needs of each customer. This includes understanding of sizing details, proper installation steps, and troubleshooting scenarios. The Installer works with a team to ensure products are installed properly and safely, while aesthetically exceeding the expectations of our customers.

Duties:

  • Knowledge of each product including proper assembly, installation, and potential modifications needed for installation.

  • Maintains knowledge of current local building codes and best practices and installs product according to such parameters.

  • Before beginning installation, conducts survey of work site to include details such as the installation site information, tools necessary for work, additional materials or hardware needed, modifications that may be necessary, potential safety hazards, and any other details necessary.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work space, free of trash and clutter that can be unsafe and unsightly to both the install team and the customer.

  • Maintains a positive image in the community of the work completed by the organization to generate new and repeat business.

  • Works well alone or as a team to perform work safely and efficiently.

  • Travels to job sites using company vehicles, following DOT regulations.


Education and/or Experience :

  • 2+ years of experience in installation, construction, or related field required

  • Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Language:

  • Ability to speak or read in English is preferred, but not required

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Knowledge of mathematical equations required within standard construction measurement practices.

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires local travel estimated to equate to 90% of the time.

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, without help, multiple times per day.

  • Must be able to access crawl spaces, attics, and climb ladders and/or scaffolding in a safe manner, avoiding any damage to customer property.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a cold, hot or wet environment. Hearing/eye protection or a hard hat/bump cap may be required when visiting certain job sites.
