Job description

Supervisor – Merchandising (Small Format)

As a Supervisor of Merchandising, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our store is well-organized, visually appealing, and fully stocked with the products our customers love. Reporting directly to the Assistant Manager – Merchandising Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of merchandising and customer service within the store. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Provide excellent representation of Kabelin Ace Hardware through fully embodying the company's core values and what it means to be "The Helpful Place".
  • Supervisors are held to a higher standard and always "Customer Ready." Show up on time, actively find replacements in advance for shifts, and complete job responsibilities each day with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Lead by example and maintain approachability for associates and customers.
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to teach and empower your associates.
  • Drive store sales to meet and exceed the Plan.
  • Share merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas with the Manager for follow-up.
  • Prepare and strive for future career advancement.

Merchandising

  • Possess in-depth product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
  • Support the Assistant Manager – Merchandising Lead in ensuring the Customer Coordinator role is executed according to best practices.
  • Train associates in customer service and merchandising best practices to enhance the overall shopping experience for our customers.
  • Manage all store services completed on the floor, including but not limited to pipe cutting, propane-related tasks, key cutting, key programming, etc. Ensure that associates are well-trained to perform these services.
  • Take ownership of the paint department, including training associates, driving add-on sales, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Coordinate merchandise resets throughout the store to create fresh and engaging shopping environments.
  • Uphold store cleanliness standards and efficiently organize facilities to provide a pleasant shopping environment.
  • Enhance the presentation of the front-of-store and awning areas.
  • Implement effective que presentation strategies to improve the customer experience.
  • Maintain store signage presentation, including brand and price signs, to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Execute and maintain End Caps, ensuring they are consistently set and well-stocked with relevant products.
  • Implement and oversee "Win the Month" promotions to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Execute the sign kit, including setting ads on launch dates and ensuring key items are stocked.
  • Manage and maintain Power Aisles, from planning their layout to setting and restocking products.
  • Implement store product standards, with a focus on shelf-facing and presentation to create an inviting atmosphere.
  • Oversee closeout management, item change management, and the timely application of weekly price change labels.
  • Serve as the liaison to store support for direct vendor products, addressing damages and deficiencies promptly.
  • Actively promote and execute store and company-wide events and promotions, such as grilling events, product demo days, customer workshops, round-up donations, seasonal changes, and more.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to curate and create local content for our social media accounts, highlighting store changes, new associates, and other relevant updates.

Compensation

$13 - $15 / hour. This is a full-time position at 40 hours/week (some evenings & every other weekend required).

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Possess a valid in-state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Previous retail merchandising experience preferred. Hardware experience preferred.
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 40lbs) and climbing.
