Job description

This position is located in the Facilities/Maintenance Branch, Support Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair facilities and equipment, as well as facility renovations and support of special events and programs under the jurisdiction of the MWR Department.Qualifications:Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.
A qualified candidate possess the following:

Knowledge of semi-skilled elements of many trades. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to care for, check fluids and determine the proper operation of a vehicle. Possesses sound basic knowledge of the elements of may trade fields as to material, repair parts, tools and methods of performing work. Musty be able to work independently as well as with others.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
