What does a maintenance helper do?

A maintenance helper provides labor and assistance to more experienced maintenance and repair technicians. This is an entry-level position, so your duties may include basic tasks such as changing light bulbs and handing tools and supplies to your supervisor. As you gain experience in the field, your responsibilities increase until you can perform the more complex tasks of a fully-qualified maintenance technician. To become a maintenance helper, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and a strong work ethic.
