The Maintenance Helper maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds.

Maintenance Helper Job Duties
  • Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
  • Cuts grass and trims weeds on organization's property.
  • Cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping and mopping.
  • Washes windows.
  • Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup.
  • Paints interior and exterior walls and trim.
  • Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Helps to maintain and repair buildings, plumbing, and electrical systems including replacing worn, defective parts such as switches and fuses.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident, staff and organization information.
Maintenance Helper Requirements
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
