Job description

Job Overview

Pay Range: $22hr - $27hr

Requirement/Must Have
  • Ability to be on one's feet for the entire workday, with frequent lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Familiarity and comfort with the functioning of modern, touch-based apps on handheld devices and tablets.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Attention to detail while doing repetitive work in a busy and often hectic environment.
  • Background in mail, parcels, or inventory management preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Obtains signatures from addressees as needed.
  • Sorts mail and materials at the mail center by truck and walking routes.
  • Assists in filling out the daily delivery logs tracking volume and materials, vehicle inspections, and customer service issues.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Contingent workers in this role will work under the direction of employees, primarily receiving, sorting, moving, logging, retrieving, and delivering parcels at permanent or temporary receiving and distribution facilities.
  • Workers in this role will be assisting Mail & Distribution Services employees during the college move-in.
  • Receiving parcels from carriers, sorting them, and transferring them to processing.
  • Inputting parcels electronically to the recipient.
  • Sorting processed parcels for ease of retrieval.
  • Retrieving parcels for recipients, confirming their identity, and logging pick-ups electronically.
  • The role will also include other mail- and parcel-related tasks, such as sorting mail, assisting with outgoing mailings, transferring parcels between locations, taking inventory, and quality control.
  • Workers will be part of a larger team of contingent workers and employees.
