Title: Laundry Distribution Clerk - Danbury Hospital - Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, Rotating weekends
Summary:
To take care of customer needs by distributing linen throughout the hospital including all clinical departments. Handles related activities including working in linen sorting and clean room.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages assigned linen inventories within hospital to ensure an adequate and accessible label of inventory
2. Establishes PAR levels and inventories. Organizes and replenishes each physical site or exchange cart. Maintains accurate inventories to ensure efficient operations.
3. Works in linen sorting room to move linen from Laundry chutes to carts, wears personal protective equipment during process. Transports solid linen from point of pick-up to shipping and receiving area. Moves cart from hospital dock on to vender trucks.
4. Assists other EVS teams members and laundry workers with their work assignments to expedite the delivery process.
5. Works in Laundry clean room processing linen by sorting folding, assembling, packaging and wrapping to prepare towel, linen and gown packs. Stacks linen on carts for distribution. Moves carts to storage and distribution areas.
6. Distributes all incoming packages of mail, supplies and equipment to all hospital departments in order to ensure effective delivery of ordered items.
7. Reports variances from the Linen management standards to supervisor in order to ensure consistent of operations.
8. Replaces all broken linen equipment as needed such as linen hampers and carts.
9.Makes sure all Laundry is segregated properly at all times
10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Including keeping hallways clear and no carts blocking fire exits, hydrants or any other life safety equipment.
11. Any other assigned departmental task
