Job description

Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations, lead CNC machine shop personnel, and support production quality, scheduling, setup, and machining work. This is a direct hire, onsite opportunity on a first shift schedule.

This role is best suited for an experienced machinist who has moved into shop leadership but can still be hands-on with CNC and manual machining, setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and drawing interpretation.
Salary: 70-80K

Monday through Friday
6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations within a CNC machine shop environment
  • Lead, direct, and support machinists and shop personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Provide hands-on machining support as needed, including setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and process improvement
  • Work with CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a production manufacturing environment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances, and machining specifications
  • Support machine setup, tooling selection, program review, and first-piece inspection activity
  • Use knowledge of G and M codes to assist with programming review, edits, troubleshooting, and machine efficiency
  • Monitor workflow, assign work, and help resolve production issues on the shop floor
  • Maintain focus on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement
  • Train, coach, and mentor machinists to improve performance, consistency, and technical skill

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of hands-on machinist experience required
  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing or leading machine shop personnel required
  • Strong CNC machining background required
  • Experience with CNC and manual mills, lathes, tooling, setup, and machining processes
  • Strong understanding of G and M codes required
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Familiarity with Okuma, Mori Seiki, Kitamura, and Haas equipment preferred
  • Experience supporting machine troubleshooting, process improvements, and shop-floor problem solving
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
