Position Summary

JE Technology Solutions is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations, production execution, production planning, purchasing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and supply chain performance. This role is responsible for converting customer demand into safe, efficient, on-time production and delivery while improving labor productivity, material availability, inventory accuracy, and operational accountability.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading manufacturing teams in a custom fabrication environment and will be comfortable managing the connection between production, planning, purchasing, inventory, and customer delivery commitments.


Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing and Production Leadership

• Lead daily manufacturing operations across production departments.

• Drive production schedule execution, labor productivity, capacity utilization, and on-time completion of jobs.

• Develop and coach production supervisors, leads, and manufacturing personnel.

• Remove barriers that prevent production teams from meeting schedule, quality, safety, and cost expectations.

• Lead daily production reviews, escalation discussions, and operational follow-up.


Planning, Scheduling, and Supply Chain Execution

• Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure customer demand is aligned with available capacity, labor, and material.

• Provide leadership oversight for purchasing, procurement, supplier follow-up, and material availability.

• Review material shortages, long-lead risks, supplier delivery concerns, and recovery plans.

• Ensure production priorities are clearly communicated across Operations, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.

• Support practical use of ERP/MRP systems to improve visibility, planning discipline, and execution.

Inventory, Warehouse, Shipping, and Receiving

• Oversee inventory control, cycle count execution, material movement, shipping, receiving, and warehouse organization.

• Improve inventory accuracy, material flow, transaction discipline, and production readiness.

• Partner with Finance and leadership to reduce excess inventory, improve inventory turns, and support reliable inventory reporting.

• Ensure receiving, supplier documentation, and material control practices support quality and production requirements.

Operational Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Own and improve key operational metrics including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, labor productivity, material availability, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, and safety.

• Lead process improvement initiatives focused on better flow, fewer shortages, reduced rework, improved accountability, and stronger execution discipline.

• Support implementation of operating standards, management routines, dashboards, and continuous improvement practices.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, urgency, teamwork, and ownership.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Work closely with Engineering to resolve manufacturability, drawing, material, and production readiness issues.

• Partner with Quality to reduce defects, improve compliance, and ensure production activities meet customer and quality requirements.

• Support Program Management with realistic status updates, risk identification, and recovery planning for customer commitments.

• Communicate clearly with leadership regarding operational risks, resource constraints, staffing needs, schedule threats, and improvement priorities.


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a focus on Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or Business Management.

• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience.

• Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience managing or working closely with planning, purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving, or supply chain functions.

• Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, labor utilization, material flow, and operational KPI management.

• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to support production planning, purchasing, inventory, and operational reporting.

• Demonstrated ability to lead supervisors and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.

• Strong communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to work on-site in Apopka, Florida.


Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience managing welding operations.

• Direct experience managing machine shop or CNC machining operations.

• Direct experience managing metal fabrication, structural fabrication, or sheet metal fabrication operations.

• Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, ground support equipment, custom fabrication, or engineer-to-order manufacturing.

• Experience managing multiple manufacturing disciplines under one roof, such as fabrication, machining, assembly, finishing, material handling, and shipping.

• Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) or similar manufacturing ERP systems.

• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS CPIM/CSCP, OSHA, ISO 9001, or AS9100 experience preferred.
