Job description


The Wood Shop Supervisor oversees daily wood shop operations while providing hands-on leadership, training, and Christ-centered mentorship to students. This position teaches quality craftsmanship, work ethic, equipment safety, and character while helping produce wood products for Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas and the public.
Responsibilities include planning daily production, training students on woodworking equipment and processes, maintaining equipment and safety standards, managing materials and shop expenses, conducting weekly safety training, and supporting the spiritual and personal development of students.

  • Strong woodworking knowledge and hands-on experience
  • Minimum of two years of relevant leadership experience
  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor students in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and daily production goals
  • General knowledge of laser and CNC equipment, or willingness to complete training
  • OSHA training
  • First Aid/CPR training
  • Understanding of addiction and recovery
  • Mature Christian faith and agreement with the mission and Statement of Faith of Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas
  • Ability to model a Christ-centered attitude and disciple students
  • Physically able to perform the responsibilities of a working wood shop environment

Preferred Qualifications: Teen Challenge/ministry experience and previous experience supervising a wood shop or production environment.
