Retail First, Inc. is hiring a Wood Shop Manager to lead our millwork, cabinetry, and display fabrication team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Wood Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our woodworking facility. This role requires expertise in millwork, commercial cabinetry, retail display fabrication, and CNC machining. You will be responsible for managing production schedules, supervising a team of woodworkers, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily wood shop operations to ensure production efficiency and quality control.
  • Lead a team of woodworkers, CNC operators, and assemblers, providing training and direction.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CNC cut files for custom millwork and retail display production.
  • Operate and manage woodworking machinery including CNC routers, panel saws, edge banders, jointers, and planers.
  • Ensure on-time project completion by developing schedules and coordinating workflow.
  • Maintain inventory of wood, laminates, veneers, and finishing materials while overseeing procurement.
  • Implement and enforce OSHA safety standards and shop best practices.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to refine product specifications and manufacturing methods.
Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in woodworking, millwork, or commercial cabinetry fabrication.
  • Experience leading a wood shop or production facility.
  • Proficiency with CNC machinery and woodworking tools.
