A Day In The Life
The Manager, Planning and Logistics, under the leadership of the Sr. Manager, Planning/Logistics and Operations, is responsible for leading day and night shift strategic and tactical logistics planning activities to support customer demand for Toyota vehicles. This position is focused on logistics execution, vehicle flow optimization, and performance management, ensuring alignment with daily, weekly, and monthly shipping demand while improving the Vehicle Process Center's (VPC) operational efficiency and throughput.

As a Mgr., Planning & Log you will:

  • Provide leadership and accountability for daily vehicle flow, planning and develop inventory flow strategies to reduce bottlenecks and improve overall vehicle velocity by driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with internal teams (Operations, Quality, Planning) and external partners (Rail, Carriers, Contractors) to ensure seamless execution of logistics operations
  • Manage communication and coordination with logistics partners including R&R, VASCOR and Union Pacific Railroad
  • Manage operational performance metrics including VPH, BOM, inventory health, and throughput
  • Support labor and resource planning aligned with operational demand
  • Lead inventory control and reconciliation processes to ensure system and physical accuracy
  • Leverage reporting tools and systems to drive data-based decisions and improve operational visibility
  • Lead Lean Daily Management (LDM) execution, including KPI reviews, daily production meetings, and performance alignment
  • Identify process gaps, reduce inefficiencies, and implement scalable solutions to improve flow, reduce rework, and enhance overall performance

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; plus at least 8 years of supervisory or an equivalent combination of education and experience Req
  • 7-9 years Experience in vehicle or asset flow management, production planning, inventory control, and transportation/logistics operations Required
