The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role ensures efficient dock scheduling, accurate inventory movement, and strong coordination between production, warehouse staff, carriers, and customers. The position balances logistics planning to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments to support production schedules and customer orders.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and freight providers.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with customers and transportation providers. 
  • Monitor shipments throughout the lifecycle including loading, transit, and delivery to ensure on-time performance.
  • Proactively resolve transportation delays, scheduling conflicts, or shipment discrepancies.

Communication & Problem Solving

  • Serve as a key liaison between warehouse operations, production, customer service, and transportation providers.
  • Communicate schedule adjustments, shipment delays, or operational constraints to internal teams and customers when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency, warehouse flow, and dock scheduling.
  • Assist with resolving customer or carrier concerns in a professional and timely manner.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and carriers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and make operational decisions as needed.
