JC Superior Logistics Group LLC is a licensed NVOCC ocean freight forwarder headquartered in Houston, Texas. Working with over 30 overseas partners across Asia, we specialize in comprehensive door-to-door import/export solutions between Asia, the U.S., and Canada via ocean, air, rail, and drayage/trucking. Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator / Freight Forwarder to join our growing Houston team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day international freight forwarding operations (primarily ocean import/export), communicate with overseas agents, coordinate with ocean carriers and drayage truckers, and ensure smooth, timely delivery of cargo for our commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipment Management: Coordinate end-to-end ocean import/export shipments (FCL & LCL) from origin to final destination across U.S. and Canada entry points.
  • Global Agent Communication: Maintain daily operational communication with 30+ overseas partners regarding shipment status, bookings, container releases, and documentation.
  • Carrier & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with ocean steamship lines, terminal operators, Customs brokers, and drayage/trucking providers to arrange pickups, deliveries, and container transfers.
  • Documentation & Billing: Review and prepare bill of lading (HBL/MBL) instructions, arrival notices, commercial invoices, packing lists, delivery orders, and customer invoicing.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively track cargo status and troubleshoot delays, demurrage/detention issues, or hold notifications to minimize costs and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Provide clear status updates, freight rate quotes, and consultative logistics advice to clients and vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Language Requirement (Mandatory): Must be fully bilingual in English and Mandarin OR bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal fluency required for daily international and vendor communications).
  • Experience: Verifiable hands-on experience in ocean freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or NVOCC operations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of international shipping documentation (MBL/HBL, ISF, Arrival Notices), Incoterms, and U.S. Customs entry processes.
  • Vendor Network: Familiarity with Houston port operations, local drayage networks, and rail ramps is highly preferred.
  • Software: Proficient with freight management software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, or similar ERPs) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multi-step shipments in a fast-paced environment.
