Job description

The Logistics Specialist supports order fulfillment, domestic and international shipping, air and ocean imports, Temporary Importation Bond (TIB) compliance, purchasing, receiving, and general logistics coordination.
Arbin Instruments is seeking a competent Logistics Specialist to coordinate and manage supply chain and logistics processes, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of logistics and supply management practices. This position requires excellent record-keeping abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-oriented approach.
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Manage sales order fulfillment and coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, packing lists, commercial invoices, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate air and ocean import shipments with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Prepare, file, track, and close Temporary Importation Bond (TIB) entries within the required time frame.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, customs clearance status, and delivery progress.
  • Perform purchasing activities, including requesting quotations, issuing purchase orders, and tracking order status.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for product, quantity, documentation, and delivery accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, purchasing, and import records.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment delays, customs issues, damaged or missing shipments, and delivery concerns.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams regarding logistics requirements.
  • Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers, products, and services.
  • Request and compare quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmation, production status, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven experience in logistics.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous forklift operating experience is preferred but not required.
  • Computer savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software.
  • This position frequently requires bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting 25-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods.

  • Speaking Mardarin in a plus
Education amp; Experience
  • Minimum requirement: a high school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred.
