Job description

  • You will drive operational excellence across global logistics and trade compliance to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase profitability, and mitigate third-party risk.
  • Manage end-to-end import/export and transportation activities across the U.S., China, and Europe, ensuring compliance, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate and execute global freight movements (air, ocean, rail, trucking) from quoting through final delivery, including dangerous goods (Class 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, and 8).
  • Partner with regional logistics providers, customs brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient transportation solutions.
  • Review import documentation for accuracy and compliance; issue export documentation.
    Maintain import/export tracking and performance reports.
  • File and manage ISF, AES, GTS, and ACE submissions in coordination with customs brokers.
  • Develop and execute logistics plans focused on risk mitigation, cost control, and schedule reliability.
    Conduct technical evaluations of complex transportation solutions, including plant equipment moves.
  • Track and manage ISO containers, MEGC tanks, and chassis.
  • Identify shipment risks, review critical movements, and ensure contingency plans and cost/schedule buffers are in place.
  • Lead or support negotiations with transportation providers on rates, capacity, and service levels.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies for cost, service, and performance.
  • Establish and influence logistics standards, metrics, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on network design, KPI development, and performance reporting.
  • Analyze logistics and transportation data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFP development, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and contract administration.
  • Ensure logistics contracts contain appropriate clauses to mitigate company risk.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and translate them into company policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Support FTZ and duty drawback initiatives.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships; actively network within the logistics and trade compliance community.
  • Report operational and functional performance to the Associate Director, Trade Compliance and Logistics.
