Job description

SCHEDULE: 40 Hours (Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM)

POSITION SUMMARY: ย The Loan Processor prepares all loan documentation, including loan disclosures for new and existing loans, paying attention to details, and ensuring loan policy, compliance, and regulations are followed.ย  The Loan Processor will work closely with Loan Officers and Loan Assistants keeping an open line of communication to promptly deliver accurate documentation.ย  As the department grows, other daily responsibilities will be assigned as determined by Management.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Provides the Synergy Bank standard of excellence in customer service.
  • Maintains honesty and the highest level of ethical standards.
  • Prepares commercial and consumer loan documents in LaserPro program.
  • Prepares and mails early disclosure documents in the required time.
  • Verifies that lending regulations, compliance and loan policy requirements are adhered to prior to preparing loan documents.
  • Verifies that all required insurance, title opinions, and other required documentation is received and in order prior to preparing loan documents.
  • Reviews loan documents to verify accuracy prior to printing documents.
  • Communicates with closing attorneys as needed to ensure disbursements and documents provided are accurate.
  • Ensures all collateral requirements are followed.
  • Works closely with loan assistants to ensure loan documentation is prepared accurately and timely.
  • Prepares entries as needed for loan disbursements.
  • Manages attorney client lines of credit including advances, payments, updating Excel, and balancing.
  • Processes and monitors DMV and DWF work needed to title collateral in timely manner to avoid penalties as well as balancing the Settlement accounts.
  • Prepares tuition loan documents while helping with processing and booking if needed.
  • Scans, names, and places documents in appropriate folders.
  • Prepares month end reports as needed.
  • Assists Loan Processing Manager, Compliance Officer, Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, Loan Operations department, and Commercial Loan Administrator as needed.
  • Maintains a good understanding of all bank products and services to effectively cross sell.
  • Handles additional duties as assigned by Management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
    • Previous experience in loan processing or other loan capacity

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    • Knowledge of LaserPro and its functions
    • Knowledge of loan documentation
    • Previous experience with loan closing attorney office or title company

    COMMUNICATION:ย ย Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written format.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work.
    • Ability to multi-task and have excellent time management skills.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
    • Accurate and efficient typing skills.
    • Must be able to maintain composure, suppress extreme emotions, control anger, and avoid aggressive behavior even in trying situations.
    • Ability to present a business professional appearance.
    • Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to work at a computer station in front of a monitor for up to 4 hours at a time without the opportunity for a break.
    • Must be able to interact with the public utilizing various methods of communication.
    • Employee may be required to squat multiple times per day and remain in that position for short periods of time while accessing filing cabinets or distributing mail at ground level. This could occur as few or as many times as necessary to accomplish the required task.
    • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
