Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing loan documentation for consumer and commercial loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Works closely with Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, and attorneys for timely and accurate loan closings, while supporting overall loan processing operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Loan Document Preparation and Processing

  • Prepare commercial and consumer loan documents, including disclosures, using LaserPro
  • Prepare and deliver early disclosure documents within required timeframes
  • Review loan documentation for accuracy prior to finalization
  • Ensure compliance with loan policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements before processing loans
  • Verify all required documentation (insurance, title opinions, and other supporting documents) is received and accurate prior to loan preparation

Loan Operations and Disbursement

  • Prepare and process loan disbursements and related entries
  • Manage attorney lines of credit, including advances, payments, updates, and balancing
  • Process tuition loan documents and assist with booking when needed
  • Perform and support loan processing tasks related to closing preparation and execution

Collateral and Account Management

  • Process and monitor collateral titling (including DMV, etc.) timely completion and avoid penalties
  • Balance settlement accounts such as DMV and Wildlife & Fisheries accounts
  • Maintain all loan-related collateral requirements and documentation

Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate with closing attorneys to ensure accuracy of disbursements and documentation
  • Work closely with Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, etc. to ensure accurate and timely loan processing
  • Assist internal departments including Loan Operations, Compliance, and Commercial Lending as needed

Documentation and Reporting

  • Scan, label, and file loan documents appropriately in designated systems
  • Maintain organized and complete loan files and documentation
  • Prepare month-end and other operational reports as requested

Customer Service and Business Support

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Maintain honesty, professionalism, and a high level of ethical standards
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products and services and cross-sell where appropriate

Additional Duties

  • Assist Loan Processing Manager, Compliance Officer, and other staff as needed
  • Follow all bank, departmental, and security policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in loan processing, loan operations, or related lending role

Education and Experienceย Preferred

  • Knowledge of loan processing systems (e.g., LaserPro)
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and lending procedures
  • Experience working with closing attorneys or title companies

COMMUNICATION

  • Effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and customers in both verbal and written formats.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread work

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, 8 AM โ€“ 5 PM
  • Remote work is NOT available.ย  Must work from the office at 14455 Wax Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70818.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periodsย 
  • Ability to handle paperwork, filing, and documentation tasks
  • Ability to interact with customers and coworkers using various communication methods
  • Ability to squat or reach for files and supplies as needed
