Full-Cycle Medical Billing Specialist (Epic EMR Super User)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full-Cycle Medical Billing Specialist with advanced expertise in Epic EMR. The ideal candidate is an Epic Super User who can manage the entire revenue cycle process. This role requires strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of payer guidelines, and the ability to improve workflows that drive clean claims and timely reimbursement.

Schedule

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle medical billing from charge entry to payment posting and collections
  • Submit clean claims electronically and resolve claim rejections
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and identify root causes
  • Process appeals and corrected claims as needed
  • Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts
  • Monitor aging reports and reduce AR days
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when necessary

Epic EMR Super User Functions

  • Serve as the internal Epic billing expert and go-to resource
  • Troubleshoot billing and workflow issues within Epic
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Assist with system upgrades, testing, and implementation updates
  • Train and support staff on Epic billing workflows
  • Ensure compliance with Epic best practices

Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations
  • Ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding (as applicable)
  • Stay current on billing regulations and payer changes
  • Assist with audits and documentation reviews


Qualifications
Required:

  • 3+ years of full-cycle medical billing experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of Epic EMR (billing modules)
  • Proven experience resolving denials and reducing AR
  • Strong understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Preferred:

  • Epic certification or designated Epic Super User experience
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Organized and deadline-driven
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
