Job description

Work Schedule: Temporary - Flexi / Irregular (minimum 2 go-live shifts required)Training begins upon hire; go-live in July 2026Work Location: various UAB St. Vincent's facilitiesHourly rate: $25.00 / hour without Epic experience; $55.00 / hour with Epic experienceUAB Health System is transitioning to Epic as our new electronic health record (EHR) platform, and you can play a key role in making go-live successful as an Epic Super User. As part of our Health System Information Services (HSIS) team, super users will receive early Epic training and provide hands-on support to teams as they learn new workflows

You'll be the go-to resource during training and go-live - answering questions, troubleshooting issues, sharing tips and updates, and helping peers adapt with confidence. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is approachable and adaptable to change, and is willing to help. In this temporary position providing support for implementation at UAB St.

Vincent's, you must be able to work up to 40 hours per week or at least two shifts per week. If you're ready to build Epic expertise and help our team through this change, this is a great way to lead during a major milestone for UAB Medicine.The Epic Superuser serves as a subject matter expert and frontline resource for Epic end users. This role provides hands-on support, workflow guidance, and system troubleshooting to end users across the organization, supports the optimization and daily use of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) and serves as a critical link between operational staff and the IT/Epic project team

The Epic Superuser helps ensure that system functionality aligns with efficient workflows, best practices, and quality patient care.Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Provides real-time, at-the-elbow support for end users encountering technical or workflow issues within Epic.2. Troubleshoots moderate to complex software issues and escalate when necessary with clear documentation.3

Identifies inefficient workflows and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, accuracy, and patient care.4. Assists with validating workflow changes and new system functionality.5. Acts as a primary contact between end users and the Epic/IT project team.6

Communicates system issues, participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide detailed feedback for system enhancements.7. Promotes system adoption by motivating, encouraging, and supporting staff throughout system changes, upgrades, and go-lives.8. Reinforces standardized workflows and best practices.9

Collaborates with Epic analysts and training staff to identify system or training needs.10. Provides coverage during go-lives, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.11. Maintains strong knowledge of departmental workflows and how they align with Epic functionality.12

Participates in ongoing learning to maintain proficiency with Epic modules used in the department.
