Job description

Job Summary:

A Direct Support Worker provides care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them live as independently as possible. This role focuses on supporting daily activities, promoting well-being, and encouraging community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  •  Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating 
  •  Support individuals in developing life skills (e.g., cooking, budgeting, personal hygiene) 
  •  Administer medications as directed (if certified) 
  •  Monitor and document client progress and behavior 
  •  Provide emotional support and companionship 
  •  Assist with transportation to appointments, work, or community activities 
  •  Maintain a safe and clean environment 
  •  Follow individualized care plans and report any concerns to supervisors 
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  •  High school diploma or equivalent (required) 
  •  Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or human services (preferred) 
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  Patience, empathy, and reliability 
  •  Ability to handle challenging behaviors calmly 
  •  Basic computer and documentation skills
