Job description

Skyline Personnel is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a well-established firm in Raleigh. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys managing complex litigation matters from inception through trial.


While this position will have a primary focus on medical malpractice defense litigation, the firm maintains a dynamic litigation practice, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support attorneys across a variety of civil litigation matters as business needs evolve. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, with defense-side experience highly preferred, and be comfortable handling multiple priorities while delivering exceptional work.



  • Provide comprehensive litigation support throughout all phases of a case, from initial filing through trial and appeal.
  • Manage medical malpractice defense files while assisting with other civil litigation matters as needed.
  • Draft, revise, and proofread pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate and organize document production, exhibits, and case files.
  • Review, summarize, and organize medical records and other case-related documentation.
  • Manage case calendars and monitor deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, expert witnesses, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal and factual research as directed by attorneys.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and expert witnesses.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and courtroom logistics.




  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Significant experience supporting complex litigation matters from start to finish.
  • Medical malpractice litigation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Defense litigation experience is highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of North Carolina civil litigation procedures and court rules.
  • Experience reviewing and organizing medical records is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
