Job description

Overview
Lutron Electronics is seeking an A&D Specification Sales Representative based in the Metro Chicago area. In this role you will drive growth across the luxury residential market by building strong relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and developers. You will manage and grow existing accounts while developing new opportunities across the region.
You will represent Lutron's lighting control, shading, and intelligent lighting solutions across high-end residential projects. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, the ability to influence project stakeholders, and the confidence to lead technical discussions with partners and specifiers.
You will apply your communication and presentation skills to educate partners, influence specifications, and expand Lutron's presence in the Chicago luxury residential market. You will also collaborate with internal teams to support strategic product adoption, share market feedback, and identify opportunities to grow the business.
This position is home-office based in the Metro Chicago, IL area and requires travel within the territory.
Responsibilities
Engage with Industry Professionals: Collaborate directly with architects, interior designers, and other key stakeholders to showcase the benefits of Lutron solutions
Build Strong Relationships: Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with industry professionals to influence design specifications and ensure Lutron products are included in upcoming residential projects
Educate and Advocate: Provide comprehensive education on the advantages of Lutron's solutions, positioning our products as the preferred choice for design specifications
Collaboration: Effectively communicate with team members, Lutron dealers, vendor partners, and other influencers to ensure comprehensive project specifications
Technical Expertise: Establish yourself as a technical expert on Lutron products for specification customers, end-users, and trade partners
Sales & Service: Close projects by leveraging your technical expertise and providing exceptional customer support
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of professional sales experience
  • Experience selling to the architectural and design community preferred.
  • Experience selling within the residential construction or technology industry preferred
  • Ability to work from a home office in the Metro Chicago, IL area
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Chicago metro area and surrounding suburbs, with occasional travel outside the territory
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM system preferred
  • Personal vehicle and Driver's License required

Starting pay: $115,000-130,000- Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
