Job description

WARTBURG COLLEGE
Title of Position:
Library Assistant - Part-time
Vogel Library Starting Date: By agreement

Function of Position:
The Library Assistant will be primarily responsible for supervising the library and student employees during Sunday regular hours dependent on the academic year. The position will also work additional hours as arranged during the week to better collaborate with the rest of the professional staff. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and supervise student employees effectively while also managing continuing work on departmental projects.
Contract:
This is a part-time staff position up to 500 hours annually, between mid-August and mid-May, Sunday 12:30-9:30 pm with up to eight additional hours during the week by arrangement. This position reports to the Director of Vogel Library.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Applicant must have a willingness to learn and engage with evolving technologies, demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, provide customer service, and excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Provide services to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred work experience in library setting
