Job description


Department:Library Services Department Organizational Unit:Library Services Cocoa Beach Library

Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Part Time

CLOSE DATE: 08/24/2026

$18.73 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Beachside/Cocoa Beach Public Library. Part-time/up to 20 hours a week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings and weekends. Performs experienced paraprofessional library work providing assistance in the Youth and Reference Services sections of the library. Work includes assisting the public with the use of computers to conduct database and Internet searches, printers, library -related services on mobile phones and eReaders, and assisting with various library programs. May provide direction to other staff members and/or volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS:Successful completion of two (2) years of college coursework in any field [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) year];ORtwo (2) years of library or customer service experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: When usage statistics change, library employees may be assigned to another library. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
