Minimum Education/Training/Experience
- Minimum 16 college credits.
- 4 months library experience.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
- Library experience in a higher education setting.
- Nine (9) months of ExLibris Alma experience.

- Customer service skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Basic library principles.
- Modern office procedures.
- Using various library equipment.
- Using computers and software application programs.
- Using various library equipment.
- Prioritizing work and performing multiple tasks.
- Monitoring and assigning work.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Circulation Experience.
- Experience with Ex Libris Alma.
- Familiarity with Library of Congress classification.

Job Duties
- Updates and maintains patron data in the Circulation module of the library ILS in support of the circulation of library materials.
- Circulates library books, other library items, CHS and Reserves items; enters/clears hold information in COM student records in Ellucian Colleague; contacts patrons as needed.
- Participates in online chat.
- Answers routine and directional questions.
- Sorts and re-shelve returned books, media, and other materials.
- Answer the phone, organize files, and perform other routine clerical tasks.
- Records statistics in the online analytics system.
- Assists with student library scavenger hunts and tours.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining library stacks and displays.
- Assists patrons in locating library materials and using various library equipment.
- Assists with opening/closing procedures on weekends and closing procedures in evenings.
- Assists students/patrons in locating library materials.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Minimum Salary Range
$9.88/hour
