Job description

Library Assistant

The part-time Library Assistant position works 20 hours per week and must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed (nights and weekends). Duties include circulating materials to library customers. Other duties include program facilitation of relative library programs and services to library customers, materials processing, displays and merchandising the collection, processing library cards, and various clerical duties. Some of the duties for this position require bending, stretching, and squatting, pushing book trucks weighing up to 50 pounds, and lifting bins weighing up to 25 pounds.

Proficient in various computer technology including Microsoft, Google, internet searching and downloadable materials. Excellent customer service skills.

High school graduation or GED and two years of relevant experience which includes at least one year of library experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
