Temporary Legal Office Assistant
Location: Clayton / St. Louis, Missouri
Hours: 40 hours per week
Position Type: Temporary (with potential for extension based on performance and office needs)
About the PositionOur law firm is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Office Assistant to support our practice. This is a temporary position ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities·        Assist with file preparation and organization for cases
·        Retrieve and organize medical records, billing statements, police reports, and other case-related documents
·        Maintain and update physical and electronic case files in accordance with office procedures
·        Assist with document management systems (e.g., CloudLex or similar platforms)
·        Prepare files for settlement, litigation, and trial preparation
·        Scan, upload, and properly label documents in the firm’s system
·        Communicate with medical providers, insurance companies, and clients for records and follow-ups
·        Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative and clerical tasks
·        Track outstanding records requests and follow up as needed
·        Ensure files are complete, organized, and ready for review
Additional Duties·        Answer phones and take messages in a professional manner
·        Schedule appointments and assist with calendar coordination
·        Perform general office tasks (copying, filing, mail handling)
·        Assist with intake of new clients
·        Support office staff with overflow work as needed
Qualifications·        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
·        Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
·        Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint) and other general computer systems
·        Prior legal or experience is a plus, but not required
