Summary/Objective
The Leasing Assistant will assist the Leasing Specialist in certifying applicants.
Essential Functions
- Contact applicant's previous landlords, to verify 5 years housing history.
- Conduct background screening reports.
- Contact applicants who have reached the top of the waiting lists and ensure the correct application packets are sent to them.
- Maintain appropriate numbers of the various application packets and forms.
- Assist with printing and assembly of application packets and updating of packets as needed.
- Assist with annual archiving of documents.
- Assist with various clerical tasks as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The Leasing Assistant generally works in an office environment.
Physical Demands
This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and significant amount of time on the phone.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds
Travel Required
• Reliable transportation.
• May need to travel to co-ops on occasion.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees-citizens, residents, and nonresidents-to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Employees are not allowed to work in the United States until the Form I-9 is completed and properly documented.
