Position Summary

The newly formed Global Sales Operations & Effectiveness organization is leading the transformation of sales capabilities, positioning BD to become the strongest commercial organization in MedTech. 

The Senior Manager, LearningExperienceArchitect,willwork at the intersection of curriculum design, instructional technology, user experience, and strategic planning, creating digital learning environments that enhancelearner engagement.This role willbe responsible foroptimizingtechnologyto ensurefield-ready learning experiences adopted in real customer interactions. It will partner across Sales, HR, Technology, and Regional Enablement teams to ensure learning priorities are aligned to business goals and consistently executed globally. It ensures learning investments are prioritized, simplified, and directly tied to measurable outcomes such as productivity, pipeline progression, and selling effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Design, Development, & Delivery

  • Define the capability architecture that links commercial competencies, sales methodologies, learning experiences, assessments, and performance outcomes across the seller lifecycle


  • Evaluate,recommend, andbuild engaging learning journeys withlearning management systems (LMS), interactive media, AI tools, and otherselling skillsplatforms


  • Define and execute the global learning experience design strategy, building cohesive end-to-end learning journeys aligned to BD’s commercial priorities and global salesmethodology.


  • Establish and govern enterprise learning frameworks, standards, and curriculum architecture to ensure consistency, scalability, and instructional integrity across regions and business units.


  • Design and oversee development of high-impact learning experiences (eLearning, instructor-led, blended, in-field enablement) that are practical, role-relevant, and embedded into how sellersoperate.


  • Integrate salesmethodology,commercialprocess, and enabling technology (e.g.,CRM,CPQ, CLM,AI/digitalanalyticstools) into unified, field-ready learning experiences that drive adoption and behavior change.


  • Incorporate innovative modalities (e.g., AI-enabled learning, simulation, interactive experiences) where they enhance engagement, scalability, and effectiveness.


Measurement, Evaluation, & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and implement a measurement framework that evaluates learning effectiveness based on behavior change and commercial outcomes (e.g., productivity, funnel progression, adoption, performance).


  • Leverage data from CRM, learning systems, and sales performance to assess impact, prioritize investments, and continuously refine learning strategies.


  • Continuously assess andoptimizethe global learning portfolio byeliminatingredundant or low-value content, improving usability, and reducing seller friction.
  • Drive a culture of accountability by ensuring learning initiatives are directly tied to measurable business outcomes and value realization


Stakeholder Partnership & Adoption

  • Partner with Sales Leadership, HR, Commercial Technology, and Regional/BU Enablement teams to align on learning priorities and deployment strategies.


  • Translate business priorities into practical, field-ready learning solutions aligned to how sellersoperate.


  • Drive adoption of enterprise learning standards across regions and business units, balancing global consistency with local execution needs.


  • Equip frontline leaders and regional teams with tools and reinforcement mechanisms to sustain learning application and behavior change.


  • Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority to ensure alignment, prioritization, and execution in a matrixed environment.


  • Establish feedback loops with field teams and leaders to continuously refine learning experiences based on real-world application and impact.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired


  • 7+years of experience in sales enablement, sales capability, instructional design, or commercial roles within complex, global organizations (MedTech, Life Sciences, Technology, or similarly regulated industries preferred).


  • Experience leading global learning programs across multiple business units, geographies, or commercial teams.


  • Ability to influence without authority and communicate at an executive level to translate complexity into clear, actionable learning solutions. 


  • Ability to evaluate and recommend emerging technologies  and AI-enabled workflows


  • Advancedproficiencywith Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate, and Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint; strong familiarity with other authoring tools


  • Experience developing eLearning modules, documentation, presentations, and training materialsmaintainedin an LMS


  • Experience inleveragingdata insights from CRM and LRM’s 


  • Veeva Vault experience preferred

Preferred Requirements 

  • Proven experience in sales enablement, training, field coaching, or commercial excellence within healthcare or B2B environments.


  • Proven experience in business/commercial roles, sales, business development, or cross-functional commercial initiatives in a matrix environment.


  • Strong understanding of CRM systems (e.g.,Salesforce), sales methodologies, and adult learning principles.


  • Results and growth-focused mindset with strong judgment, accountability, and decision-making abilities.


  • Change management and innovation attitude and ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships.


  • Project management experience preferred.
