Job description

Mechanical Project Manager

Maple Reinders Constructors is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support our self‑performing mechanical team across our civil infrastructure, industrial and food & beverage projects. This role focuses exclusively on process mechanical work, providing day‑to‑day leadership, coordination, and project delivery support for our in‑house mechanical crews.

The Mechanical Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements, while maintaining strong communication with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and work assignments for the self‑performing mechanical team.
  • Coordinate process mechanical construction activities on various projects such as water/wastewater, industrial, and food & beverage.
  • Assist in selecting suppliers and sub‑trades, obtaining quotations, and supporting procurement for mechanical scopes.
  • Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews for mechanical components.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, administration files, and drawing control.
  • Participate in and support QA/QC processes for mechanical installation work.
  • Monitor progress and assist with preparing cost forecasts, budgets, and progress payment documentation.
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of change orders related to mechanical scope.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and estimating teams to provide mechanical expertise.
  • Attend and contribute to project and coordination meetings with sub‑trades, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  • Ensure all mechanical work is completed safely, meets required standards, and aligns with contract documents.
  • Support obtaining required permits and inspections for mechanical installations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project coordination or project management (ideally with a general contractor or self‑performing contractor).
  • Relevant education: Mechanical engineering, mechanical technology diploma, mechanical trade background, or a combination of experience and training.
  • Hands‑on experience with process mechanical systems in civil infrastructure or industrial environments (water/wastewater, food & beverage, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical installation practices, sequencing, and construction methodologies.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $145,000 / Year (depending on experience)
