Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary:

Pax Services Group’s Project Managers are responsible for planning, and controlling every stage (from pre-construction, through completion) of roofing installations or repairs to government and commercial properties for multiple concurrent construction projects. Project Managers plan and design project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress and keep upper management informed the entire way. Project Managers will manage multiple projects of different sizes and complexities.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Leads an interdepartmental team to successfully complete assigned projects safely, on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Define project tasks, set deadlines, delegate responsibilities, and manage progress against expected deliverables.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
  • Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Manage budget and materials, identifying opportunities within estimates to improve cost performance, and coordinating proactively with project management and production teams.
  • Prepares billings for assigned projects and follow-ups with collections as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to project team members, resolving issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, permitting, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities within the estimates to outperform estimated cost and coordinate with the project management and production teams.
  • Manage all trades and workforce requirements related to the project including submittal documents and safety plans, vetting requirements and coordination of material deliveries and site services.
  • Participate in job completion financial analysis, track performance metrics and bid results.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including work on government contracts or public sector projects.
  • OSHA 30 Safety certification, EM 385 1-1 certification, and CQM certification strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing, specifically with single-ply, standing-seam, asphalt, cold applied, hot applied and metal projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.
  • Proficient with cost software. Preferably experience with Procore.
  • Ability to analyze specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Self-starter with passion for ongoing learning towards continuous improvement.
  • Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
