The Opportunity

As part of Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business, you will play a vital role in protecting people, infrastructure, and the communities surrounding major powersystem projects. In this position, you support all phases of project site execution, working closely with project management teams to review scopes, tenders, and HSE plans while ensuring subcontractors meet required safety expectations. Your work spans construction and service environments-including highvoltage distribution settings-where you help identify hazards, strengthen controls, and maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

You will conduct site visits and audits, participate in incident trend work, lead accident investigations, and support the development of training that builds awareness and safety ownership across project teams. By enabling safe, efficient project delivery, you contribute directly to the reliability and performance of the power grid and help advance safer, more sustainable Grid Integration solutions.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Coordinate with project management to review project scopes, tenders, HSE plans, and subcontractor qualifications.
  • Act as the HSE focal point for sites and project teams, supporting routine progress discussions and emergent issue resolution.
  • Assist in identifying hazards and developing controls to eliminate or minimize occupational risks at project and service locations.
  • Provide advice, support, and training to management and workforce to achieve HSE goals and maintain compliance.
  • Facilitate HSE best practices to drive continuous improvement and strengthen a worldclass safety culture.
  • Conduct site visits and audits to evaluate process effectiveness and assist with closing execution gaps.
  • Support incident trend investigations and recommend preventative and improvement actions.
  • Lead accident investigations to ensure thorough rootcause work and corrective actions.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of professional HSE experience; or Associate degree and ten years of professional HSE experience; or High School Diploma/GED and twelve years of professional HSE experience.
  • Experience working within OSHArelated environments and applying OSHA safety standards in daily operations.
  • Electrical safety experience, including work in highvoltage distribution environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Preferred: ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
