Description
The Opportunity
Alpha Inc. isn't looking for a "check-the-box" trainer.
We're looking for a culture builder. A systems thinker. A talent accelerator.
Someone who believes training isn't an event - it's a competitive advantage.
As our Learning & Development Specialist, you'll help architect how our people grow - from new hires stepping onto their first jobsite to emerging leaders preparing for their next big move. You'll turn development into momentum. Ideas into programs. Feedback into measurable growth.
If you get fired up about unlocking potential, building leadership pipelines, and designing learning that actually sticks - this is your arena.
About Alpha Inc.
Founded and grown in Hawai'i, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned leader in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, crane operations, and infrastructure solutions. We build what matters - for communities that matter.

As Learning & Development Specialist, you won't just support these values - you'll help embed them into how our people grow.
How You'll Make an Impact
This role supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of learning and development programs that enhance employee skills, career growth, and leadership capabilities .
Design & Deliver Meaningful Learning
  • Assist in designing and delivering training programs aligned with company objectives and workforce needs.
  • Develop and curate engaging content; e-learning modules, workshops, leadership development sessions, and blended learning experiences.
  • Facilitate dynamic training sessions both in-person and virtually.

Elevate the Employee Journey
  • Support and enhance New Hire Orientation (NHO) in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
  • Help drive our career progression framework, equipping employees with tools to navigate growth at Alpha.
  • Coordinate and support mentorship programs that foster meaningful development relationships.

Build Systems That Scale
  • Support and manage content within our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring usability, accuracy, and strong participation.
  • Track and analyze training data, feedback, and performance metrics to measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with HR and department leaders to identify skill gaps and implement targeted training solutions.

Support Leadership & Engagement
  • Assist in administering leadership development initiatives.
  • Contribute to employee engagement programs that reinforce a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Bring
You're not just organized - you're intentional.
You're not just collaborative - you're proactive.
You don't just deliver content - you drive growth.
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in learning & development, training coordination, or HR-related roles
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and instructional design principles

Skills & Mindset
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills - you can command a room without dominating it.
  • Ability to develop interactive, engaging learning materials that drive retention.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Data-driven mindset - you measure what matters and improve what doesn't.
  • Collaborative team player with a genuine passion for employee growth and development
  • Most importantly, you embody:
    • Lead with Heart - You care deeply about people's growth.
    • Strength in Unity - You build partnerships across departments.

If you want your work to shape careers, strengthen teams, and impact an entire organization - this is your stage.
