Job Description:

Trim Saw Operator

Location: Scranton, PA

The Trim Saw Operator is responsible for operating the Fletcher Saw to accurately trim, inspect, and package sheet materials according to customer specifications. This role ensures production quality, efficiency, and safety while supporting plant operations. The operator monitors equipment performance, performs blade changes, verifies measurements, records production data in the ERP system, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. Flexibility to assist with other plant operations and work overtime as needed is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the Fletcher Saw to trim and prepare sheet materials for shipment in accordance with production orders and specifications.

  • Perform Fletcher Saw blade changes and ensure proper setup for production runs.

  • Use measuring devices to verify that finished material meets quality and order specifications.

  • Accurately enter order confirmations and production data into the MOVEX ERP system.

  • Complete required production documentation, including productivity and quality records.

  • Follow all safety procedures and operating guidelines when working with equipment.

  • Identify equipment issues or maintenance needs and notify appropriate personnel promptly.

  • Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and collaborate with Maintenance to resolve problems.

  • Maintain knowledge of Quality Control (Q.C.) specifications and ensure compliance.

  • Perform routine housekeeping and clean-up tasks to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, accountability, and a positive work attitude.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled shifts and required meetings.

  • Remain flexible to support other plant assignments and work overtime when needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to operate industrial saw equipment and sheet manipulators.

  • Ability to operate a forklift safely (certification preferred or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience using precision measuring tools.

  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

  • Ability to maintain production pace and meet output requirements.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems (ERP experience preferred).

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong quality awareness.

  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.

Pay Transparency

The salary for this position starts at $22.83. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
