The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for leading the organizations training and development strategy, ensuring employees across all functions are equipped with the skills needed to succeed. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role oversees the design, coordination, delivery, and administration of comprehensive training programs for office, production, and support teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess organization-wide training needs and design scalable learning programs that support business growth and continuous improvement
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, procedures, and curricula to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness
  • Plan and coordinate all training activities, including scheduling, logistics, communications, and documentation for both internal and external programs
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to align training plans with operational and production needs
  • Build internal training capability by recruiting, coaching, and supporting trainers, including leading Train-the-Trainer initiatives
  • Support workforce development and succession planning through structured skill-building and career development programs
  • Maintain training systems and records to ensure compliance and audit readiness, including proper documentation, version control, and periodic review
Requirements:

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Proven experience building and maintaining auditable training and competency systems
  • Demonstrated success using virtual and augmented reality technology in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools
  • Strong background in technical skills development
  • Previous training or certification in ISO 9001 and SQF strongly preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Organization/Design preferred (or equivalent years of experience)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation delivery
  • Proven ability to design and deliver diverse training programs, from professional skills to technical and operational topics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
