SUMMARY
Over the past seven years, our Leadership and Organizational Development team has built a strong, integrated system of tools, programs, and learning experiences aligned with Mortenson's culture and business strategy. This development infrastructure is designed to accelerate leadership growth and meet the evolving needs of our customers and internal teams.
We are now looking for a Leadership & Organizational Development Senior Specialist to bring this system to life. In this next phase of our journey, you'll support a data-driven approach to organizational development, consult with business partners, and play a key role in strengthening culture, effectiveness and performance across Mortenson. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence people, processes and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consultation & Collaboration
    • Act as an internal consultant-partnering with leaders, HR Business Partners, and internal customers to discover, diagnose and co-create impactful solutions.
    • Support enterprise-wide initiatives such as culture transformation, engagement, talent development, and team performance through an OD lens.
    • Stay current on best practices in leadership development, OD, and facilitation to bring fresh thinking to the team.
  • Design & Development
    • Design and evolve leadership and organizational development solutions that support enterprise strategy, culture priorities, and business performance.
    • Apply adult learning, organizational psychology, systems-thinking and inclusive design practices to ensure solutions work at the team, leader, and enterprise level.
    • Translate complex organizational needs (e.g., growth, integration, meeting effectiveness) into scalable OD approaches and practical deliverables. (e.g., toolkits, guides, frameworks, diagnostics).
  • Measurement & Organizational Listening
    • Define success metrics and evaluate effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and business outcomes.
    • Support and execute organizational listening efforts (surveys, focus groups, qualitative feedback) to surface themes that inform leadership and organizational priorities.
    • Synthesize data and insights into clear, actionable findings for leaders-connecting employee experience to organizational performance.
  • Facilitation & Delivery
    • Serve as a facilitator for high impact (in-person and virtual) enterprise programs, leadership experiences, and team effectiveness sessions.
    • Navigate complex group dynamics and varied audiences with energy, credibility, and presence.
    • Tailor facilitation approaches to context-ranging from developmental learning to strategic, outcome-driven working sessions for intact teams and cross-functional groups.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in leadership development, organizational development, talent development, or learning & development roles.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide OD initiatives and strategic projects from ideation through implementation.
  • Proven facilitation skills with experience engaging audiences at multiple leadership levels.
  • Strong consulting skills and the ability to build trust and influence across a complex organization.
  • Proficiency in applying assessments, learning technologies, and evaluation methods.
  • Excels in communication, data visualization and storytelling for various audiences.
  • Experience coaching or team effectiveness.
  • Experience using tools like Oracle, Microsoft Suite, LMS, or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

The base pay range for this role is $92,300 - $138,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
