Job Summary:
As an Assistant Teacher, you will be given the tools, resources, and training to plan and direct operations of an assigned classroom to ensure Celebree mission, vision and values are upheld, and children are provided with a developmentally age-appropriate learning environment. Provide support and direction to the classroom assistant and aide.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your assigned classroom to ensure compliance with all PA state regulations, company brand standards, policies and procedures
  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans in a safe, nurturing environment following the Celebree School curriculum; clearly delegate lesson activities to staff and maintain open, effective communication with the teaching team
  • Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment for children, families, and visitors; keep engaging classroom and hallway displays, along with an educational parent board
  • Communicates clearly with caregivers by greeting them personally, addressing concerns promptly, offering positive feedback, providing regular updates on their child's development and classroom activities, and maintaining daily reports on each child's day
  • Counsels children as needed using the Conscious Discipline framework and utilize appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Provide support and direction to Aides/Floaters to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner

Qualifications:
  • Childcare: 2-3 years (Required)
  • Child Development Associate (Preferred)
  • Associate's degree in human services field or 30 CEUs in early childhood development, special education, elementary education or human services (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in human services field or early childhood education (Preferred)

Physical Demands:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.
Specific Skills:
Certification in CPR & First Aid. Computer skills, familiar with educational software and curriculum.
Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
