This position will be based at Ashburn/Remote
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Create, manage, and release various documentation products through coordination with Subject Matter Experts.
โ€ข Research, write, edit, and produce Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables or project deliverables
โ€ข Research, write, edit, and produce Telecommunications System Installation Plans (TSIPs/SPRIPs).
โ€ข Proofread/edit technical content produced by others including program managers, engineers, and proposal writers.
โ€ข Produce illustrations using Microsoft Visio.
โ€ข Research, write, edit, and produce MIL-STD 38784 Technical Orders (TOs).
โ€ข Coordinate and facilitate Government-mandated TO Certification events.
โ€ข Facilitate Comment Review Matrix (CRM) reviews with team members/partners and customers as necessary.
โ€ข Travel as required - <20% (approx. two 1-2 weeks per year, as required for active projects or for training)
โ€ข Directly support the Program Management team and Documentation Manager to produce quality deliverables
โ€ข Develop/implement configuration management plans, and work with engineering to create configuration baselines.
โ€ข Prepare and manage Configuration Item and Work Product Lists.
โ€ข Identify, document, and control changes to configuration items.
โ€ข Facilitate change management processes for review, approval, and release.
โ€ข Ensure configuration records integrity and perform configuration audits.
โ€ข Prepare configuration control reports and status accounting IAW established Configuration Management Plans.
โ€ข Assist with oversight and direction to Documentation Team members and SMEs.
โ€ข Support the engineering team by resource planning, and execute documentation / configuration management tasks.
โ€ข Work with key stakeholders to identify, document, and implement operational process improvements.
โ€ข Provide process inputs to ensure group strategies align with operational Company/Organizational core objectives.
โ€ข Participate in audits and appraisals to ensure alignment with Core Solutions processes and CMMI best practices.
โ€ข Write proposal content to ensure strategies align customer requirements with Telos Core Objectives & best practices
โ€ข Support proposal efforts by identifying technical documentation and configuration management requirements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
โ€ข The successful candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in a writing-focused discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience (8+ years).
โ€ข Technical writing background with Engineering and/or IT-related experience.
โ€ข 4+ years of experience writing detailed technical procedures, preferably MIL-Spec Technical Manuals, Technical Orders, and Time Compliance Technical Orders.
โ€ข Ability to translate engineer-speak into easily/clearly understood instructions.
โ€ข Ability to write clearly and concisely in the active voice.
โ€ข Ability to translate content guidelines into a comprehensive document outline.
โ€ข Ability to follow strict composition guidelines established by customer requirements.
โ€ข Ability to conduct oneself with diplomacy and tact in the presence of our customer.
โ€ข Ability to take instructions, identify points requiring clarification, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
โ€ข Expert level proficiency with MS Word.
โ€ข Strong proficiency in MS Office [Power Point, Excel, Visio] and Adobe.
โ€ข Familiarity with CMMI Dev Level 3, and ISO 9000 requirements, and process development.
โ€ข Demonstrate proficiency in configuration management practices.
โ€ข A professional attitude, attention to detail, customer service skills, and excellent organizational skills are required.
