Scope of Position:


We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer I to oversee and manage the sheet glass manufacturing process for 1 to 3 production lines. This position will lead all activities related to achieving process objectives, identifying sources of variation, improving processes, and supporting product developments and line startups. The ideal candidate will leverage technical expertise and collaboration to drive continuous improvement and optimize manufacturing performance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise to address manufacturing challenges and build fundamental understanding of key process steps.
  • Solve complex process issues using data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor and proactively address equipment and process performance issues.
  • Provide engineering-level support to manufacturing operations and recommend/implement improvements to processes and equipment.
  • Lead and support projects focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and technology migrations.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing processes while ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Develop, maintain, and update engineering and operations documentation.
  • Train operations workforce on equipment or process changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product output meets or exceeds manufacturing goals and budgets.
  • Execute cost reduction and process excellence (PEx) projects using DMAIC/DESIGN methodologies.
  • Develop and manage project plans and timelines to achieve objectives without compromising safety, quality, or intellectual property.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel less than 15%, with possible international travel.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Glass/Ceramics, or Chemical disciplines preferred).
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Strong scientific and engineering problem-solving skills with the ability to apply the scientific method.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Experience in experimental design and analyzing data for process optimization.
  • Results-oriented with a high level of commitment to achieving goals.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC/DESIGN) methodology.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and prioritize work independently.

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in glass manufacturing processes.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.

The range for this position is $69,791.00 - $95,963.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
