At a large commercial or government institution, such as a hotel, hospital, or correctional facility, your duties as a laundry manager are to oversee the laundry staff, ensure that inventory remains stocked, and hire and train new staff. Many retail laundry services also employ laundry managers. You may have similar responsibilities in these positions, but you are usually more hands-on in ensuring that your staff completes laundry, dry cleaning, ironing, and other tasks promptly. You are also responsible for ensuring that billing or invoicing material is filed correctly.
