Job description

Laundry - Laundry Technician

Part time Every weekend. Primarily in the Laundry facility but may support as Housekeeper in our Skilled Nursing Facility.  General hours are 6am to 2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

As a Laundry Technician at Carolina Meadows, you are required to perform daily laundry functions as follows:

  • Pick up, clean, dry, press and deliver linens to all assigned departments.
  • Wash linens and loads in the commercial dryer. Sends dried linens
  • through the laundry press. Folds linens and stocks on linen cart for delivery back to the units.
  • Sort linen in appropriate containers for cleaning. Separates linen that requires special cleaning or spot treatments.
  • Stock all unit carts with the designated amount of towels, sheets, clothes etc. in the morning and late afternoon.
  • Pick up all soiled linen in Health Clinic, Therapy OT room, and Whirlpool Rooms daily.
  • Re-stock with clean linen up to PAR levels daily.
  • Provide linen services to the Club Center, Fairways and Health Center dining rooms.
  • Ensure all table linens and napkins have the proper folds and are stacked based on color.
  • Return linens to the dining rooms daily.
  • Check water temperature gauge on large washer to ensure that it reaches 160 degrees.
  • Register temperature on log and initials log.
  • Press all linens or garments in accordance with established policies. Folds linens and garments to meet the highest level of satisfaction from residents. 
  • Fold, count, stack and distribute clean laundry and linens to residents and departments.
  • Ensure all laundry and linens deliveries are accurate.
  • Stock all laundry closets and whirlpool rooms to ensure an ample supply of linens at all times.
  • Keep track of each load washed in washers and records it as performed on the log.
