Job description

Part-Time Administrative Assistant

This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,560 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits. The Part-Time Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Water Resources Laboratory. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative support duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Answer customer calls and handle associated paperwork.
  • Non-contracted purchasing duties such as placing requests with vendors, receiving and distributing orders, vendor payments, and follow-up communication with vendors as needed.
  • Submit contracted purchasing invoices.
  • Maintain files for all purchasing documents.
  • Answer the front gate and door.
  • Assist with the maintenance and removal of older files.
  • Other duties as needed.

Hourly rate: $30/hr up to 29 hours a week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED AND
  • Drivers license AND
  • Four years of administrative support or related office experience, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
