Job description

Laboratory Administrative Assistant

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Administrative Assistant in South Pasadena, CA. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service Proficient in MS Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele Ability to work in a high volume environment Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time Ability to lift up to 25lbs. Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Position is full-time, Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday rotational schedule Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of South Pasadena, CA are encouraged to apply
