Job description

Laboratory Administrative Assistant The Laboratory Administrative Assistant in the Dermatopathology Laboratory is an experienced professional with exceptional laboratory administrative support skills. The role uses initiative in completing assignments independently and with minimal supervision. An extremely high-volume Laboratory, speed and accuracy are essential, as referring physicians expect biopsy results within a 24-48 hour turnaround time. The incumbent, though not patient-facing, is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience through ensuring open lines of communication between referring physicians and our Dermatopathologists. Job Responsibilities: Answer referring physician office's phone calls Enter EMR order number into LIS for cases without HL7 electronic orders Log incoming QA/MOHS slides into shared drive, follow up when slides are returned to sender Sign for FedEx and UPS deliveries Scan previous day's route sheets to the shared drive Print review report copies for Pathologists according to their preferred schedules for sign out Replenish all areas in Administration with supplies required for the day Perform other related duties as assigned Job Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency is required A minimum of 1 year relevant experience Working knowledge/proficiency of Medical Terminology Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to set priorities among multiple competing objectives, tasks and initiatives is required Candidate must be well organized and able to manage a demanding workload and moderately complex cases in an accurate and timely manner Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs Hourly Rate Ranges: $21.63 - $33.47 Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education. 61st Street Service Corporation At 61st Street Service Corporation we are committed to providing our client with excellent customer service while maintaining a productive environment for all employees.
