Job description

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday; 10a-6:30p variable

Supervises daily activities for all related functions of the Logistical Support Service Division, to include courier service, supply deliveries, and mail services. Schedules staff and assigns routes to maximize productivity. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Logistical Support Services training program. Assists in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and maintaining key performance measurements. Monitors staff productivity contributes to and conducts employee performance appraisals and disciplinary process. Acts as a liaison to customers regarding complaints, issues and/or concerns. Promotes and has a positive professional image and utilizes effective communication skills in interpersonal interactions with customers, clients, patients and families, physicians and fellow employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervises daily activities for all logistical support staff services related functions. Provides daily directions and operational support, as needed, to logistical staff. Develops and implements new work processes.
  • Schedules staff and assigns routes to maximize productivity. Utilizes available technologies to achieve optimal results.
  • Develops and maintains the Logistical Support Services training programs. Acts as a resource for newly hired personnel. Responsible for training newly hired personnel in and assures tasks/functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitors staff productivity and investigates non-compliance issues and takes appropriate action when needed. Responsible for employee performance appraisal and disciplinary process.
  • Assists in identifying KPI's and maintaining key performance measurements. Completes monthly departmental activity reports. Assists in the development of Logistical Support Service departmental operating budget(s). Reviews, monitors and adjusts based on monthly P and L and budget reviews.
  • Provides operational support to all logistical support staff for all associated software applications regarding direct verbal and written communications with clients, patients and HNL support teams.
  • Acts as a liaison to other departments and customers (in absence of Manager) regarding complaints, issues and/or concerns. Takes corrective action when appropriate to maintain smooth flow of departmental functions.
  • Supports HNL Lab Medicine values and exhibits excellent customer relations in anticipating customer needs in all interactions in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the values and mission of HNL Lab Medicine.

Education/Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent required. Experience in courier operations, logistics or related field required. A minimum of two years supervisory or group leader experienced required. Must demonstrate working knowledge of courier/logistics operations

Language Ability:

Must possess excellent verbal and written communicative skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Must possess and apply solid basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and fractions.

Reasoning Ability:

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to assess priorities and be capable of supervising others in a stressful and changing environment. Must possess anddemonstrate customer service skills and constant focus and attention to providing quality service.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of MSWord, Spreadsheets, Email and Medical Courier Elite (MCE), Fleetio and other logistics platforms.
