Position Overview
As a Lab Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in enabling cutting-edge engineering development within Intel's dynamic lab environments. Your expertise will drive innovation, maintain operational excellence, and ensure quality and efficiency in our testing and development processes. By maintaining customized equipment, managing lab logistics, and troubleshooting complex systems, you will directly contribute to Intel's success in delivering industry-leading solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to make a meaningful impact, working with state-of-the-art technologies and fostering progress in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a fully functional lab environment to support engineering development efforts
  • Triage and resolve issues in setups, and redeploy tests requiring software or hardware upgrades
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in nonfunctioning lab equipment
  • Monitor systems, ensure quality assurance of equipment, and conduct equipment modifications as needed
  • Drive logistics management, including the physical setup of prototype systems and peripheral devices
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, restock lab supplies, and maintain accurate inventory reports and logs
  • Participate in the selection, procurement, commissioning, and validation of testing equipment and instrumentation
  • Ensure the accurate recording of test results in adherence to established quality practices
  • Perform routine testing and preventive maintenance on lab benches, testers, and other equipment
  • Uphold lab safety and good housekeeping practices to create an organized and secure working environment
  • Rack and un-rack servers, manage ethernet cabling, and run cabling in raceways as necessary

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School/equivalent
  • Proficiency in lab administration, lab IT knowledge, lab safety, and troubleshooting techniques
  • 10+ years of server hardware debugging experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with Intel IPU devices or similar competitor products
  • Knowledge of ethernet cable types and ability to manage network cabling
  • Physical capability to work on ladders, run cabling in raceways, and handle server racking and un-racking tasks
