Pay Rate: Between $28 to $33 hourly

Length of Contract: 12 + months

We are seeking an Engineering Lab Technician (Contract) to support the Datacenter Systems & Board Design Team. This role is responsible for supporting the testing, validation, and debugging of advanced datacenter products and systems.

The Engineering Lab Technician will collaborate with an innovative, multidisciplinary, world-class team of engineers to help design, develop, test, and deliver industry-leading GPU-accelerated computing products. The role will involve maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging complex lab systems that incorporate sophisticated system-level hardware and software. Performance and functional testing will leverage industry-leading Deep Learning and AI applications to validate system capabilities and ensure product quality.

In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of datacenter technologies and gain hands-on experience solving complex technical challenges. There will be significant opportunities to learn new skills related to GPU servers, datacenter infrastructure, system architecture, hardware, and software.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, helping ensure that high-quality GPU server products meet performance and reliability expectations before being released to customers. Your work will directly contribute to delivering products that enable AI researchers, scientists, and datacenter operators to achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing daily activities according to established priorities, and troubleshooting complex technical issues in an engineering laboratory environment. A strong passion for system-level product quality, hands-on problem solving, and continuous learning is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Assembly & Installation: Assemble, build, and install bench top development platforms and large server systems.
  • System Testing & Validation: Run system tests. Collect and report on testing results. Screen modules and boards as part of validation testing and debug.
  • Signal Data Collection: Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
  • Board & Mechanical Rework: Prepare boards for detailed solder reworks to be completed by skilled technicians. Perform mechanical reworks involving power tools such as a Dremel.
  • Lab Logistics & Inventory: Support lab shipping & receiving logistics and manage inventory of equipment and materials.
  • Lab Operations: Maintain and organize the lab equipment for efficiency and continuously look for ways to improve lab processes.
  • 3D Printing: Help 3D print plastic parts for quick service modifications to setups/fixtures.Technical Requirements
  • Diploma/Certification, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Min 2+ years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab in the areas of silicon bringup, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and relevant hands-on hardware/software debug experience.
  • Experience with lab test equipment setups for signal measurement using oscilloscopes and understanding of schematics.
  • Experience with Linux command line operation.
  • Solid system-level debugging experience & familiarity with board bring-up and customer support.
  • Good attention to detail, as well as clear written and verbal communications.
