Job Description

The Logistics Manager ensures safe, efficient, and well-maintained operations across lab, warehouse, and office environments for a fast-growing startup. This role owns facility operations, shipping and receiving, and inventory coordination, while supporting the company’s evolving infrastructure needs. The position plays a key role in receiving materials into the lab, distributing finished products to customers, and maintaining rigorous safety and chemical handling standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day logistics and operational coordination across lab, warehouse, and office spaces.
  • Lead all shipping and receiving activities, including domestic and international shipments.
  • Manage inventory across labs and warehouse, ensuring accurate tracking in computer systems and alignment with packing slips and invoices.
  • Oversee facility operations, including equipment management in warehouse, lab, and utility areas.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, PPE usage, and compliance standards, particularly related to chemical handling, hazmat, and hazardous waste.
  • Support and help maintain EHS and site safety programs, contributing to continuous improvement of safety practices.
  • Coordinate and organize lab equipment and supplies to support efficient scientific and production activities.

  • 4+ years of operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or production environment.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting EHS or safety programs, with stronger EHS knowledge tied to higher compensation.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical handling and hazmat procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with site safety, PPE usage, and hazardous waste handling.
  • Experience with beverage manufacturing, production management, or similar process environments.
  • Proficiency with inventory management and warehouse safety procedures.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., based primarily in Minneapolis, with the possibility of location changes as the company expands. The role is approximately 80% hands-on floor work and 20% planning and coordination, in a mix of lab, warehouse, and operational environments. You will regularly handle chemicals, with appropriate PPE provided and safety procedures in place. The atmosphere is fast-paced and startup-oriented, combining independent work with collaboration alongside the lab team as needed. The company currently has around 50 employees and continues to grow. The dress code is casual, including jeans, t-shirts, and closed-toe shoes, and the office area is pet-friendly, so you should be comfortable working in a space where dogs may be present.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.87/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
