Job Description:

Join us as a Lab Technician in our Apex, NC facility.

You will independently develop, and document test procedures based on leadership input.  Represent lab in technical discussions and provide strategic direction and implementation of lab testing for an extensive range of new product types and major product improvements.  You’ll be a part of the new product development team, and you will work closely with cross-functional partners including product management, operations, marketing, sales and our field testing and service teams.

You will:

  • Fabricate, troubleshoot, and optimize complex testing systems.
  • Represent the lab in technical discussions and lead testing on new engineering projects
  • Drive efficiency improvements and cost-effectiveness.
  • Research, source, and training on new lab testing equipment and stay abreast of technological advancements and regulatory changes
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement advanced testing methodologies.
  • Articulating data from testing and building out reports

Key Qualifications:

  • Expertise in electronic testing and troubleshooting and must be able to build out data from PLC’s and sensors.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and efficiency and experience in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Must have Python Programming experience (preferred), or PLC programming experience
  • At least a 2-year degree from a college or tech school in engineering technology or programming
  • Proven project management skills for orchestrating complex testing projects.
  • Must be able to build testers from scratch (designing, assembling, and making it run)
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs.

Position hours/shifts (Overtime Available!):

1st shift: 8am to 5pm

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $30 to $40/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Determination of pay rate may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
